As we continue to scale, we are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to strengthen our finance function and ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and robust financial controls.
About the role:The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities while ensuring compliance with IFRS, UAE statutory requirements, and CBUAE regulatory expectations.
This role requires a detail-oriented finance professional with strong technical accounting expertise and experience operating within a regulated financial services environment. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Treasury, Operations, Compliance, and external stakeholders to ensure the integrity of the company's financial records.
Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting and Month-End Close Manage and ensure the timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing of accounts. Prepare monthly management accounts with budget versus actual variance analysis and provide explanations for key variances. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS. Review accounting entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, fixed assets, and other month-end adjustments. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and supporting schedules.
Reconciliations & Financial Controls Manage balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, customer funds, and other key control accounts. Perform and review partner reconciliations covering remittance, cards, bill payments, banking, settlements, and other payment partners. Ensure timely resolution of reconciliation differences and outstanding items with internal teams and external partners. Maintain robust accounting controls, reconciliation processes, and adherence to accounting policies.
Regulatory & Statutory Compliance Support regulatory reporting and financial submissions to the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) and other applicable authorities. Support VAT, Corporate Tax, and other statutory filings. Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation for external audits, internal audits, and regulatory reviews. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Business Partnership Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, Treasury, Compliance, and other departments on financial and regulatory matters. Support management by providing timely financial information and analysis. Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For CA, ACCA Finalist, CPA, MBA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a regulated financial services environment. Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting. Hands-on experience with month-end closing, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations. Strong understanding of accounting controls, financial reporting, and statutory compliance. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications Experience within Fin Tech, Payments, Banking, Exchange Houses, or other regulated financial services. Exposure to CBUAE regulatory reporting and regulatory requirements. Experience supporting external audits, internal audits, and regulatory inspections. Familiarity with payment operations, settlements, customer funds reconciliations, and financial controls.
