About the role
Special Minds is hiring a Learning Support Assistant for a school-based placement in Abu Dhabi. You will work one-to-one with a student inside the school, supporting them academically, socially, and behaviourally throughout the school day.
Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one support to an assigned student during the school day Support the student's participation and engagement in the classroom Implement strategies from the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) in coordination with class teachers and therapists Track progress against learning targets and provide regular written updates to the school and the Special Minds team Foster the student's independence — scaffolding learning rather than completing tasks for them Maintain professional conduct and confidentiality at all times as our representative within the school
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field (preferred) Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, or other learning differences, as a shadow teacher, learning support assistant, or ABA therapist Fluent in English and Arabic. Patient, dependable, and professional Based in Abu Dhabi or able to commute daily; UAE school experience preferred Candidates must meet the specific placement requirements of the partner school
