About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Farm & Horticulture Manager to oversee the maintenance, horticulture, landscaping, irrigation, and overall appearance of our farm and outdoor areas. The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience in horticulture, farm management, landscaping, and irrigation, with the ability to assess site conditions, supervise maintenance teams and contractors, and provide practical recommendations for improvement.

This is a consultancy role and does not require daily on-site presence. Regular site visits and ongoing coordination will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of the farm, gardens, plants, trees, lawns, and landscaped areas.

• Oversee plant health, pruning, fertilization, pest and disease control, and seasonal planting.

• Recommend suitable plants and landscaping solutions for the UAE climate.

• Develop and monitor horticulture and landscaping maintenance plans.

• Monitor and assess irrigation systems, schedules, water usage, and maintenance requirements.

• Supervise and provide guidance to gardeners, farm workers, and landscaping teams.

• Monitor external landscaping and maintenance contractors.

• Review landscaping works and ensure they meet the required standards.

• Recommend plants, fertilizers, soil, gardening equipment, irrigation materials, and other requirements.

• Identify areas for landscaping improvement and beautification.

• Provide practical recommendations to improve the overall condition and appearance of the property.

• Conduct regular site inspections and provide brief reports and recommendations to management.

• Assist with planning and budgeting for horticulture, landscaping, and maintenance requirements.

• Be available for consultation regarding urgent horticulture, landscaping, or irrigation matters.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in horticulture, farm management, landscaping, grounds management, or a related field.

• At least 5-10 years of managerial experience.

• Strong knowledge of horticulture, plant care, landscaping, irrigation, pruning, fertilization, and pest/disease management.

• Experience supervising gardeners, farm workers, landscaping teams, or contractors.

• Good knowledge of plants and landscaping practices suitable for the UAE climate.

• Strong practical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to independently assess site conditions and provide professional recommendations.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

• UAEexperience is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Agronomy, Landscape Management, or a related field.

• Experience managing farms, private estates, large gardens, hotels, resorts, institutional properties, or similar environments.

• Experience with UAE irrigation systems and water-efficient landscaping.

• UAE driving license is an advantage.

Engagement

The engagement will be structured as a freelance monthly retainer or agreed consultancy fee, depending on the scope of work and frequency of site visits.

The consultant will be expected to:

• Conduct regular scheduled site visits.

• Monitor the condition of the farm and landscaped areas.

• Supervise gardening and landscaping activities.

• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers when required.

• Provide recommendations and action plans.

• Submit brief reports following site inspections.

• Provide ongoing technical advice to management.
