Develop and maintain BIM models for civil, structural, electrical, MEP, and associated power-project disciplines.
Prepare and update 3D models based on approved engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models to identify and resolve clashes and design interfaces.
Create and maintain coordinated BIM models for substations, control buildings, utility buildings, infrastructure, and associated facilities.
Develop detailed BIM models for architectural, structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, and MEP systems as required.
Review engineering drawings and technical documentation and translate design information into accurate BIM models.
Perform clash detection and coordination using appropriate BIM software and prepare clash reports for resolution.
Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Electrical, MEP, Design, Engineering, Construction, Planning, and QA/QC teams to resolve BIM-related issues.
Ensure BIM models are developed and maintained in accordance with approved BIM Execution Plans, project standards, naming conventions, Level of Development (LOD), and data requirements.
Prepare coordinated shop drawings, construction drawings, layouts, sections, details, schedules, and BIM-based deliverables.
Update models based on approved design changes, RFIs, site modifications, and construction updates.
Support construction teams by providing coordinated BIM information, layouts, drawings, and model-based solutions.
Coordinate BIM models with site conditions and identify potential constructability issues before construction.
Support quantity take-offs and extraction of material quantities from BIM models where required.
Assist in developing 4D/5D BIM deliverables by integrating model information with project schedules and cost data where applicable.
Maintain BIM model accuracy, integrity, version control, and document revision history.
Ensure all BIM deliverables comply with project-specific standards, client requirements, and applicable industry practices.
Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist BIM teams for model integration and information exchange.
Participate in BIM coordination meetings, design reviews, constructability workshops, and technical coordination sessions.
Prepare and maintain clash detection reports, model review reports, BIM registers, and coordination records.
Review and validate BIM models received from consultants, contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
Support preparation of as-built BIM models based on approved construction records and site changes.
Ensure proper information management and timely submission of BIM deliverables through the project Common Data Environment (CDE).
Assist in developing BIM standards, templates, families, libraries, and workflows as required.
Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on BIM processes and model coordination.
Maintain accurate BIM documentation, model registers, drawing registers, and coordination records.
Support project handover by preparing final BIM models, asset information, and as-built documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve BIM workflows, coordination efficiency, design quality, and construction productivity.
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, BIM, or a related discipline.
Typically 3–7 years of relevant BIM experience, preferably in power, infrastructure, EPC, construction, or engineering projects.
Strong experience in developing and coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other relevant BIM software.
Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, model review, and construction documentation.
Good understanding of BIM workflows, BIM Execution Plans, LOD requirements, model coordination, and information management.
Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, MEP, and architectural drawings.
Knowledge of multidisciplinary design coordination and construction interfaces.
Experience working with Common Data Environments (CDE) and document management systems.
Understanding of BIM standards and practices such as ISO 19650 is preferred.
Knowledge of 4D/5D BIM, quantity take-offs, and model-based project controls will be an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify design clashes and coordination issues.
Good communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with engineers, designers, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
Proficiency in MS Office and BIM documentation/reporting tools.
UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
Experience in power substations, transmission/distribution projects, utility infrastructure, or major EPC projects.
Experience developing BIM models for HV/EHV substations, control buildings, cable trenches, equipment foundations, and associated infrastructure.
Experience coordinating electrical and MEP services within substation and control-building environments.
Experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and BIM 360/ACC or equivalent platforms.
Familiarity with UAE/GCC BIM requirements and client-specific BIM standards.
Experience with major EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and utility clients will be an advantage.
BIM certification or training in Revit, Navisworks, ISO 19650, or equivalent will be preferred.
