Assist the Project Manager/MEP Manager in managing all MEP activities across power project sites.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise MEP installation works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project schedules.
Coordinate MEP activities with civil, structural, electrical, construction, engineering, procurement, QA/QC, and HSE teams.
Review MEP drawings, shop drawings, equipment layouts, specifications, material submittals, and technical documentation before execution.
Supervise installation and commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, fire alarm, ventilation, and other MEP systems.
Coordinate installation of mechanical and electrical services within substations, control buildings, administration buildings, utility buildings, workshops, and associated facilities.
Ensure MEP works are executed as per approved designs, project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements.
Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist contractors for technical issues, inspections, approvals, and site coordination.
Monitor daily progress of MEP works and report status, constraints, and potential delays to project management.
Support preparation and implementation of detailed work plans, look-ahead schedules, resource plans, and recovery programs.
Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources to ensure efficient utilization.
Coordinate procurement and timely delivery of MEP materials, equipment, tools, and consumables.
Review material submittals and coordinate with procurement and QA/QC teams to ensure approved materials are available before installation.
Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with project specifications, approved method statements, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Coordinate inspections and testing of MEP installations with QA/QC and consultant/client representatives.
Ensure testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, balancing, functional testing, and handover activities are completed as planned.
Review and resolve RFIs, technical queries, site instructions, design changes, and MEP coordination issues.
Identify clashes and interface issues between MEP services and civil, structural, and electrical systems and coordinate timely resolution.
Ensure proper installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC equipment, pumps, tanks, piping, firefighting systems, plumbing systems, ventilation systems, and associated equipment.
Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure non-conforming works are identified and rectified promptly.
Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, risk assessments, permit-to-work requirements, and safe working practices.
Participate in site meetings, coordination meetings, progress reviews, and technical discussions with stakeholders.
Support preparation of progress reports, inspection records, material status reports, and other project documentation.
Monitor variations, additional works, material consumption, and subcontractor performance and provide necessary inputs to commercial/project teams.
Assist in resolving site constraints and maintaining project milestones and critical-path activities.
Support snagging, rectification, as-built documentation, O&M manuals, testing records, and final project handover.
Contribute to continuous improvement, cost optimization, productivity enhancement, and efficient MEP project delivery.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MEP Engineering, or a related discipline.
Typically 7–10 years of relevant MEP experience, preferably within power, infrastructure, EPC, industrial, or large-scale construction projects.
Strong experience in managing and coordinating multidisciplinary MEP works.
Good knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, fire alarm, ventilation, and associated building services.
Experience in MEP installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, shop drawings, specifications, equipment layouts, schematics, and technical documentation.
Experience coordinating MEP works with civil, structural, electrical, and architectural disciplines.
Knowledge of applicable international standards, UAE regulations, authority requirements, and HSE practices.
Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and site teams.
Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, resource management, QA/QC, and construction methodologies.
Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering/project management software.
Strong communication, coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple MEP activities within project deadlines.
