Job Details

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day civil construction activities at project sites.

  • Review civil drawings, specifications, BOQs, method statements, and project requirements before commencement of work.

  • Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.

  • Supervise excavation, earthworks, backfilling, compaction, foundations, concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, masonry, structural works, roads, drainage, utilities, and finishing works.

  • Coordinate with surveyors for setting out, levels, alignments, dimensions, and verification of completed works.

  • Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources to ensure efficient site execution.

  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, QA/QC, HSE, MEP, structural, and other project teams.

  • Review shop drawings, technical submissions, material submittals, and construction details.

  • Raise and respond to RFIs, technical queries, site instructions, and design clarifications.

  • Monitor daily and weekly progress against approved project schedules and report delays or site constraints.

  • Prepare daily site reports, progress updates, quantity measurements, and construction records.

  • Ensure correct setting out and execution of foundations, structural elements, levels, dimensions, and embedments.

  • Monitor concrete works including reinforcement, formwork, pre-pour inspections, concrete placement, vibration, finishing, and curing.

  • Ensure earthworks, excavation, backfilling, and compaction are carried out as per approved specifications and testing requirements.

  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, testing, material approvals, and closure of NCRs and observations.

  • Ensure all construction materials comply with approved specifications and are properly stored and protected.

  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with approved drawings, work methods, quality requirements, and schedules.

  • Coordinate with procurement and stores teams to ensure timely availability of construction materials.

  • Assist in monitoring project quantities, material consumption, productivity, and construction costs.

  • Identify construction issues, technical constraints, and potential delays and coordinate corrective actions.

  • Ensure implementation of project HSE procedures, risk assessments, toolbox talks, permit requirements, and safe working practices.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe access throughout the work areas.

  • Participate in site meetings, coordination meetings, progress reviews, and technical discussions.

  • Support testing, inspection, snagging, rectification, completion, and handover activities.

  • Verify completed works and assist in preparation of as-built drawings and final project documentation.

  • Coordinate with MEP and other disciplines to ensure proper interfaces and avoid clashes during construction.

  • Provide technical guidance to supervisors, foremen, and site teams.

  • Support the Project Manager/Senior Engineer in planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of project activities.

  • Ensure compliance with UAE construction standards, authority requirements, and applicable international codes.

  • Perform other engineering and project-related duties assigned by management.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering and construction practices.

  • Good understanding of excavation, earthworks, foundations, concrete, reinforcement, formwork, structural works, roads, drainage, and finishing.

  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical documents.

  • Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, surveying, and site execution.

  • Strong site supervision and subcontractor coordination skills.

  • Good understanding of QA/QC procedures and construction quality standards.

  • Strong awareness of HSE requirements and safe construction practices.

  • Good project planning, coordination, and progress-monitoring skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.

  • Familiarity with Primavera P6/MS Project will be an advantage.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in civil construction, infrastructure, engineering, industrial, building, or EPC projects.

  • Proven experience in supervising and coordinating civil construction activities.

  • Experience working with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.

  • UAE/GCC experience is preferred.

  • Experience working on projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of UAE authority requirements and local construction practices will be preferred.

  • Relevant professional engineering certification will be an added advantage.
