About Company

      1. The Palestinian Electricity Transmission Company Ltd. (PETL) is the first national governmental company established to build, own and operate the Palestinian electricity transmission system. PETL is the sole designated buyer of electricity for transmission to Palestinian market. The Palestinian Cabinet, in its session held on the 1st of October 2013, ratified the registration of PETL as a public governmental company; in line with Article (18) of the Electricity Law from 2009.

The establishment of PETL is supported by the Energy Sector Strategy (2011-2013), among  its main responsibilities are to meet the growing demand from different sources which support the principle of diversification of supply and to organize the technical and financial relations between local and external electricity sources with distribution companies. It is expected that the operating of PETL will improve market conditions and lead to reductions of technical losses in the electricity system as well as competitive purchasing prices.






      1. Strategic Objectives:
      2. 1-     Implementing the single buyer model which will participate in organizing the Palestinian electricity sector,
      3. 2-     Upgrading the level of electricity services delivered to the distribution companies,
      4. 3-     Diversifying electricity supply through power purchase agreements with local generation sources and interconnections with neighboring countries
