Functional Responsibilities:
Purpose and Scope of Assignment
To provide coordination support to JHCO and maintain a direct channel of communication with all humanitarian stakeholders ensuring updates and new developments are communicated in a timely manner.
Monitoring and Progress Controls
- Organise all JHCO coordination meetings with humanitarian stakeholders and maintain an updated calendar.
- Document internal and external meetings, report on meetings outputs and follow up on action points for timely delivery.
- Provide direct support to the Director of Programs within the Jordan Government, and the Jordan Armed Forces.
- Support the coordination and engagement with key stakeholders and partners including and not limited to other UN agencies and NGOs.
- Prepare and maintain project files, detailed documentation, and regular progress updates; specifically for the Jordan corridor.
- On the request of Management, participate in clusters’ meetings, and ensure timely communication to relevant parties
- Update humanitarian stakeholders on new operational requirements, humanitarian access regulations as required.
- Assist in actively intensifying outreach and “client support” to UN Agencies and INGOs using the system Mechanism database, and potential users, including through individual and group training and support to use the system;
- Perform any other tasks as requested.
Education/Experience/Language requirements:
Education
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- First University Degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Project Management or equivalent disciplines with (2) years of expereince is desirable but not required.
Work Experience
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in Humanitarian Affairs or Coordination, Communications, Programme Support, International Relations or Project Management is required.
- Experience working within the humanitarian cluster system is desired.
- Experience in conferences and event administration is desired.
- Experience in working with government entities and UN organisations is desired.
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English is required.
