Programs Development Specialist

Identifies, assesses and responds to potential project development opportunities. Engages in networking, research and analysis to collect information that contributes to JRF’s ability to make strategic and informed decisions regarding new opportunities, and position the organization given evolving trends in the development arena.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess, prepare for, monitor and respond to new funding opportunities.
  • Able to develop new strategic partnerships, manage partnership relations effectively, carry out due diligence processes for prospective partners, research, assess and priorities new partnership prospects, and coordinate with partners on scopes for collaboration the entire proposal development process, in coordination and alignment with various departments and team members to ensure that proposals are written and submitted in a clear and concise manner within the specified deadline and donor’s guidelines.
  • Ensures that templates and tools for proposal development are developed and utilized effectively during the proposal development process. Actively coordinates and participates in planning/status meetings to ensure proper adherence to good proposal management practices.
  • Contributes to budget development and narrative, in collaboration with the budgeting and technical teams to ensure that the financial information submitted is clear, concise and in alignment with donor ‘s requirements (template, budget ceiling, etc.).
  • Conducts research and contributes to drafting research reports, specifically in the fields of community empowerment, livelihood, child protection, and women and youth empowerment to ensure that the context information provided is relevant and up-to-date, as well as contributes to proposals and other documents needed.
  • Prepares and conducts presentations, such as those highlighting the organization’s capacity and experience to ensure that the Jordan River Foundation’s programmatic interventions and priorities are presented well and in a comprehensive and detailed manner to donors and other relevant stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Marketing or any other related field.
  • Master’s Degree is an asset.
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of the international development donor landscape and proven track record of developing winning grant proposals in INGOs.
  • Extensive knowledge of proposal and donor funding requirements and the ability to apply that knowledge in preparing project proposals.
  • Strong process management skills especially proposal management processes (technical, financial)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to apply those skills in project development, the negotiation process, and speeches/presentations while representing.
