Resident Engineer – Electrical (Substation) Location: UAE – Various Project Sites Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Level: Skilled Professional (10+ years) Industry: Engineering / Power & Energy / Transmission & DistributionOverview A confidential engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer – Electrical (Substation) to support the delivery of high-voltage power substation projects across the UAE. The role involves managing electrical engineering activities during design and construction phases, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, quality, and contractual requirements. This position plays a critical role in overseeing complex site works and maintaining strong coordination with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.Key Responsibilities Manage all electrical engineering activities for high-voltage power substation projects (400k V / 220k V / 132k V). Supervise and monitor design review and construction supervision activities on behalf of the Client. Oversee site works to ensure construction strictly follows approved designs, specifications, and standards. Identify, monitor, and support the resolution of non-conformance issues. Plan, organize, and supervise engineering, inspection, and testing activities. Ensure full compliance with HSE policies and quality standards throughout project execution. Coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships. Review, verify, and support project close-out activities, including installed quantities and documentation. Prepare progress reports and provide technical advice and solutions when required.Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (approved by relevant UAE regulatory authorities). Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering. Proven experience on high-voltage substation projects within the UAE.Technical Skills & Knowledge Strong technical expertise in 400k V / 220k V / 132k V substation systems. Solid experience in site supervision, construction monitoring, and project coordination. Knowledge of utility requirements, contract administration, and QA/QC processes. Familiarity with UAE power utility standards and procedures.Soft Skills Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination abilities. Strong stakeholder management and teamwork skills.
