Job Title: Equine Veterinarian – Racing & Injury Specialist Location: Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, UAEJob Type: [Full-time]Overview:We are seeking an experienced and skilled Equine Veterinarian specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of racehorses and performance horses. The role focuses on injury prevention, acute and chronic injury management, and maximizing athletic performance while ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare.Key Responsibilities:· Clinical Care & Diagnosiso Examine and assess racehorses for musculoskeletal injuries, lameness, and performance-related conditions.o Perform diagnostic imaging (X-rays, ultrasound, endoscopy, thermography) and interpret results.o Provide accurate diagnoses and develop tailored treatment and rehabilitation plans.· Treatment & Rehabilitationo Administer medical, surgical, and physiotherapeutic interventions for orthopedic and soft tissue injuries.o Oversee rehabilitation programs including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, shockwave therapy, and controlled exercise regimens.o Monitor recovery progress and adjust treatment protocols as necessary.· Performance Optimizationo Conduct pre-race evaluations and post-race check-ups.o Advise trainers on conditioning, nutrition, and injury prevention strategies.o Implement advanced performance monitoring tools and biomechanical assessments.· Emergency & On-Call Serviceso Provide rapid response to on-track injuries during training sessions and competitions.o Manage emergency cases including fractures, tendon injuries, and severe lacerations.· Compliance & Ethical Standardso Ensure adherence to racing industry regulations, anti-doping policies, and ethical veterinary practices.o Maintain accurate medical records and treatment logs.Qualifications:· Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent veterinary degree.· Licensed (or eligible for licensing) to practice veterinary medicine.· Professional experience in equine sports medicine and injury management.· Proficiency in diagnostic imaging and equine rehabilitation techniques.· Excellent communication skills to work with owners, trainers, jockeys, and racing officials.Preferred Experience: (5 years and above)· Previous work with racehorses, eventing horses, or other high-performance equines.· Experience in both field and clinic settings.Working Conditions:· Work on-site at racing tracks, training facilities, and equine hospitals.· Travel as needed to support horses at competitions or training camps.· Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings.Compensation & Benefits:[Salary AED 4,000-5,000 monthly, Employment visa & Medical Insurance provided, Accommodation and Work related transportation provided.
