Job description

**Applicants Must be based in the UAE. We will support visa transfers for candidates already in the country, but we do not offer relocation packages for applicants based outside the UAE**

About the Role

Eight Technic designs and manufactures precision fixtures and tooling for the aviation and aerospace industry,

supporting MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) operations where accuracy and turnaround speed both

matter. We're looking for a Design Engineer who lives in Fusion 360 and thinks like a manufacturer — someone

who designs parts that are built right the first time, prototypes and proves out ideas quickly, and owns the full path

from concept to costed BOM.

This role is hands-on. You'll be prototyping, building, and iterating alongside the shop floor — not just producing

drawings from a desk.

Key Responsibilities

• Design manufacturing fixtures, jigs, and tooling in Fusion 360 (parts, assemblies, drawings)

• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles from the first sketch,

not as an afterthought

• Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM), including hardware, raw stock, and outsourced

items

• Produce manufacturing-ready 2D drawings with correct GD&T, tolerances, surface finishes, and notes

• Build cost estimates: material, machining time, finishing, hardware, and assembly labor

• Collaborate with machinists, assemblers, and procurement to close the loop between design intent and

shop-floor reality

• Manage revisions, ECOs, and version control across projects

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical design experience using Fusion 360

• Demonstrated ability to apply mechanical design principles to solve real-world engineering problems

• Working understanding and appreciation of machining, sheet metal, weldments, and fastening best

practices

• Proficient with GD&T

• Ability to build a complete BOM and cost estimate from a finished design

• Fluent technical communication in written and spoken English

Strongly Preferred

• Working knowledge and experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, and other prototyping methods

• Mechanical aptitude — capable of building and assembling assemblies with basic hand tools

• Exposure to and familiarity with aerospace, automotive, or precision tooling environments

• Experience using PDM/PLM systems for revision control and part management

Nice to Have

• Experience with Fusion 360 CAM or another CAM package

• Working knowledge of 3D scanning workflows

• Structural analysis / FEA experience (understanding of FEA concepts, static or modal analysis)

Why Join Us

You'll own your designs end-to-end — from first sketch to the fixture in a technician's hands — prototyping fast and

seeing your work out on the shop floor in days, not months, supporting real aerospace MRO operations where

precision matters. You'll be backed by a close-knit, supportive team that's genuinely invested in helping you do your

best work, in an environment where questions are welcomed and good ideas get heard.
