Role Description The Estimation Manager will oversee the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for steel-related projects in Dubai. This full-time, on-site role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, analyzing material and labor costs, and coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing. The Estimation Manager will prepare bid documents, support tender submissions, and collaborate with sales, engineering, and project teams to clarify scope, risks, and assumptions. The role includes maintaining estimation databases, improving cost models, and providing guidance to junior estimators to ensure consistent and high-quality proposals.
Qualifications
Strong skills in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and pricing analysis for steel or construction projects. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, project specifications, and technical documents. Experience using estimation software, spreadsheets, and other relevant digital tools for cost modeling. Ability to liaise effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather and validate cost data. Solid understanding of steel materials, fabrication processes, and construction methodologies. Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple bids and deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing proposals and presenting estimates. Several years of relevant experience in estimation or cost engineering within steel, construction, or a related industry. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with local market conditions, regulations, and tendering practices in Dubai or the wider GCC region is an advantage.
