Position: Quality Control Engineer – Design & Installation
Job Summary The Quality Control (QC) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all interior design, fit-out, and installation works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, client requirements, UAE regulations, and company quality standards. The role involves inspecting materials, monitoring workmanship, coordinating with design and site teams, conducting quality audits, and ensuring projects are delivered defect-free and on schedule. Key Responsibilities1. Design Quality Control Review final drawings, IFC drawings, material specifications, and BOQs before execution. Verify that design intent is accurately translated into production and site execution. Coordinate with the design team to resolve technical and quality-related issues. Ensure compliance with client-approved samples, finishes, and material specifications. Identify design discrepancies and recommend corrective actions before installation. Review concept, schematic, and detailed design packages for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Verify architectural and interior design drawings, including layout plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, joinery details, and shop drawings. Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards, project specifications, authority requirements, and applicable codes. Ensure revisions are properly incorporated and documented.2. Material Inspection & Quality Assurance Inspect incoming materials, furniture, fixtures, finishes, hardware, and accessories. Verify materials against approved submittals and mock-ups. Reject non-conforming materials and coordinate replacement with procurement and vendors. Maintain inspection reports and material approval records. Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage.3. Site Installation Quality Control Conduct regular inspections during installation activities. Verify dimensions, levels, alignment, finishes, and workmanship. Ensure installation complies with approved shop drawings and method statements. Monitor subcontractor workmanship and adherence to quality standards. Perform stage-wise inspections before proceeding to the next activity.4. Finishing & Snagging Conduct pre-handover inspections. Prepare snag lists and monitor closure of defects. Coordinate with project managers and subcontractors for rectification. Verify completion of corrective actions before client inspections. Ensure projects are handed over with zero critical defects.5. Documentation & Reporting Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly QC Reports. Maintain inspection checklists and quality records. Document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective Action Reports (CARs). Maintain records of inspections, approvals, and quality audits. Support internal and external quality audits.6.
