Experience Level: Executive / VP-Level About the Role We are looking for an experienced, strategic, and technically strong Vice President of Engineering to lead our engineering organization and drive the company's technology and product-development capabilities. The VP of Engineering will work closely with the CEO, CTO, Product leadership, and senior management team to define engineering strategy, deliver scalable and reliable technology solutions, strengthen engineering processes, and build a high-performing technical organization. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with executive leadership, business understanding, operational discipline, and a proven ability to scale engineering teams and technology platforms. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute the overall engineering strategy in alignment with company and product objectives. Lead the engineering organization across software development, platform engineering, infrastructure, quality engineering, and related functions. Translate business and product strategy into clear engineering roadmaps and priorities. Partner closely with the CEO, CTO, Product, Design, and other senior leaders. Establish engineering goals, KPIs, delivery standards, and performance metrics. Oversee the design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of technology products and platforms. Ensure engineering teams deliver high-quality products on time and within agreed priorities. Establish scalable software architecture, engineering standards, and development practices. Ensure systems are designed for reliability, scalability, performance, security, and maintainability. Lead engineering planning, resource allocation, capacity management, and technical prioritization. Drive improvements in software development lifecycle, Dev Ops, testing, release management, and engineering productivity. Establish appropriate development methodologies, coding standards, review processes, and quality controls. Monitor engineering performance, delivery risks, technical debt, and project dependencies. Identify and address technical and operational risks before they impact business objectives. Lead technology modernization, platform scalability, cloud adoption, and engineering-transformation initiatives where appropriate. Oversee engineering budgets, technology resources, vendors, and external technical partners. Support build-versus-buy decisions and evaluate major technology investments. Work with Information Security and other stakeholders to maintain appropriate security and compliance standards. Ensure engineering practices support applicable data-protection, regulatory, and business requirements. Develop strong relationships with technology vendors, strategic partners, and external engineering resources. Recruit, mentor, retain, and develop senior engineering leaders and technical talent. Build a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, collaboration, innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. Establish clear career paths, performance standards, and leadership-development programs for engineering teams. Lead engineering organizational design and workforce planning as the company grows. Encourage effective collaboration between Engineering, Product, Sales, Operations, Finance, and other business functions. Communicate technical strategy, engineering performance, risks, and investment requirements to executive leadership and the Board where required. Support product strategy and business growth through effective technology execution. Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential business value. Ensure engineering decisions balance speed, quality, scalability, security, and cost. Represent the engineering organization in executive and strategic business discussions. Arabic language skills are an advantage. UAE / GCC technology leadership experience is highly desirable. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field. MBA or relevant business qualification is an advantage. Typically 12+ years of progressive engineering or technology experience, including substantial engineering leadership responsibility. Previous experience as a VP of Engineering, Engineering Director, Head of Engineering, Senior Engineering Manager, or equivalent senior technology leadership role is preferred. Proven experience leading engineering organizations and managing senior engineering leaders. Strong experience with software architecture, engineering delivery, cloud platforms, Dev Ops, and technology operations. Experience scaling engineering teams, platforms, and development processes. Experience managing engineering budgets, resources, vendors, and strategic technology investments. Experience working closely with C-level executives, Product leaders, and business stakeholders. Experience with technology transformation, platform modernization, or digital transformation is an advantage. Experience in high-growth, technology-driven, Saa S, fintech, e-commerce, or digital businesses is an advantage. UAE / GCC or international technology leadership experience is strongly preferred.
