An established law firm in Dubai is seeking an experienced Accountant/Finance Assistant to join their Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance. This is a full-time position based in Dubai, UAE.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
- Compile financial data and generate MIS reports for management review, highlighting key performance indicators and variances.
- Support in analyzing financial results and trends to provide insights for decision-making.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice processing, vendor payments and expense reimbursements.
- Reconcile Bank statement, accounts payable and receivable balances and resolve discrepancies.
- VAT compliance, return filling and submission.
- Liaison with banks, auditors, clients and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate accounting records, including journal entries, ledgers and month-end close procedures.
- To be work as a complaint’s office of Anti Money Laundering (AML) and to follow the guidelines.
- Assist in preparing audit documentation and support during external audits.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
- Assist in maintaining financial systems and software to streamline accounting processes.
- Support Finance Manager in financial reporting, analysis, and initiatives.
- Any other job assigned by the line manager
Preferred Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of UAE financial regulations and tax laws is a plus.
