Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on drilling rig equipment, including engines, pumps, generators, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective repair solutions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules and protocols.
• Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment condition, and inventory of spare parts.
• Adhere to safety regulations and protocols at all times, promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
• Provide technical support and guidance to rig crew members on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in rig mechanics.

Skills

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a mechanic in the oil and gas industry, preferably on drilling rigs or similar heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed, including occasional travel to remote job sites.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
