Quality Manager

What you will do:

1. Department Leadership and Oversight:

 

  • Champion optimal and effective patient safety practices to HealthHub colleagues, patients, and their families.
  • Drive and support Quality department activities, emphasizing data management, precise analysis, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Spearhead the identification, definition, monitoring, and implementation of Quality improvement initiatives and Patient Safety activities across HealthHub departments.
  • Utilize a sophisticated trigger system to identify potential morbidity cases, conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations, and collaborate with departmental directors for review and feedback.
  • Conduct rigorous data validation for new performance measures and criteria.
  • Lead the seamless introduction of new technologies.
  • Take an active role in planning and coordinating quality week and associated activities.
  • Ensure the timely submission of required quality indicator data/reports.

 

2. Policies, Procedures, and Database Management:

 

  • Contribute significantly to the development of policies and scope of work across all HealthHub divisions.
  • Oversee the policy and procedure database meticulously, managing new policies, revisions, and reviews for formatting and circulation.
  • Maintain and update the Quality database, ensuring meticulous indexing and numbering of policies.
  • Play a pivotal role in implementing and maintaining technical guidelines and frameworks for evaluating the quality of care.

 

3. Strategic Support and Performance Improvement:

 

  • Provide strategic guidance and day-to-day coordination for medical, clinical, and support service staff to implement effective monitoring systems.
  • Actively support Quality committee activities and specific agenda items, elevating the overall quality standards.
  • Extend support for management and review processes related to safety and environmental issues within HealthHub services.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and present detailed and accurate quality reports and visual presentations for director review.
  • Lead the design and implementation of high-impact performance improvement projects.
  • Facilitate and coordinate performance improvement activities within assigned departments, utilizing advanced tools and methods.

 

4. Accreditation Excellence:

 

  • Take a leadership role in the accreditation process by coordinating specific chapters or standards.
  • Effectively communicate relevant information from quality activities to committees, accreditation teams, and impacted departments.
  • Ensure Health Hub’s continuous compliance with and adherence to accreditation standards in assigned areas, aiming for a 90% compliance rate during accreditations.

 

5. Committee Facilitation and Quality Review:

 

  • Facilitate meetings, forums, focus groups, and workshops, showcasing strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Oversee committee activities, including terms of reference development, distribution of inclusion and exclusion memoranda, scheduling, and minute preparation.
  • Actively serve on assigned committees and participate in departmental meetings and activities to enhance the department's integrity and professional reputation.
  • Lead the development and implementation of in-depth case reviews for quality improvement activities.
  • Maintain mortality and morbidity databases, providing vital physician performance-related data.
  • Conduct focused reviews of clinical performance and actively contribute to the identification and quantification of problems affecting quality and safety.

 

6. Proactive Response and Confidentiality Assurance:

 

  • Ensure timely responses to changes in legislation, healthcare trends, and government directives impacting HealthHub's ability to provide care.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality regarding information accessed during work at HealthHub.

 

7. Staff Satisfaction Survey Coordination:

 

  • Collaborate with HR to coordinate the annual staff satisfaction survey, ensuring its effectiveness and relevance.

What qualifies you for the role:

Education:

  • Bachelors or Masters in any healthcare related education
  • Quality Management Certification, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
  • Experience with the organization’s identified Quality Improvement model/program.
  • Knowledge of Quality, and patient safety principles.
  • Proficiency in investigation tools and techniques, including root cause analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities.
  • Excellent presentation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Critical thinking, conflict management, and multitasking abilities

 

Minimum Experience and Knowledge: 

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Quality management in healthcare setting
  • Experience of managing teams.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of investigation tools and techniques including root cause analysis.
  • Experience with the organization’s identified Quality Improvement model/program.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities.
  • Problem solving skills with ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands.
