Transaction Monitoring Specialist

Responsible for monitoring and analyzing cryptocurrency transactions to detect and prevent suspicious activities such as money laundering, fraud, and other financial crimes. This role involves working closely with the compliance and risk management teams to ensure the company's adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies related to cryptocurrency transactions.


Key Responsibilities:

Monitor cryptocurrency transactions in real-time using advanced monitoring systems.

Analyze transaction patterns to identify unusual or suspicious activities that may indicate money laundering, fraud, or other financial crimes.

Conduct detailed investigations of flagged transactions and escalate findings as necessary.

Ensure all cryptocurrency transactions comply with relevant regulatory requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) laws.

Stay updated with the latest regulations and guidelines related to cryptocurrency and implement changes to monitoring processes as required.

Assist in preparing reports for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.

Identify potential risks related to cryptocurrency transactions and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.

Collaborate with the risk management team to enhance the transaction monitoring framework and implement best practices.

Utilize data analytics tools to interpret large volumes of transaction data and generate meaningful insights.

Prepare comprehensive reports on transaction monitoring activities, findings, and trends.

Present findings to senior management and recommend actions to address identified issues.

Work with IT and development teams to optimize and maintain transaction monitoring systems.

Ensure systems are equipped to handle the complexities of cryptocurrency transactions and are updated with the latest technologies.

Provide training and support to junior team members on cryptocurrency transaction monitoring processes and best practices.

Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in the cryptocurrency space and share knowledge with the team.

Collaborate with compliance, legal, and operational teams to ensure a cohesive approach to transaction monitoring.

Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and financial institutions, regarding compliance and monitoring issues.



Skills

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in transaction monitoring, compliance, or financial crime prevention.

At least 1-2 years of experience specifically in cryptocurrency transactions and blockchain technology.

In-depth understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

Strong knowledge of AML, CTF, and other relevant regulations.

Proficiency in using transaction monitoring and data analysis tools.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex data sets.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


Certifications:

Relevant certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), or blockchain certifications are a plus.
