Job Overview:

As a Cyber Security Penetration Tester, you will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses in computer systems, networks, and applications through penetration testing and vulnerability assessments. Your role involves simulating cyber attacks to assess the security posture of our clients' systems and recommending mitigation strategies to improve their overall security.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting penetration testing on networks, web-based applications, and other computer systems.

Performing vulnerability assessments to identify security weaknesses.

• Exploiting vulnerabilities to gain access and escalate privileges, as a malicious attacker might.
• Documenting and communicating findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Developing and executing exploit scripts and techniques to validate vulnerabilities.
• Collaborating with security teams to improve testing tools and methodologies.
• Staying current with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and hacker techniques.
• Providing guidance and support to developers and system administrators in fixing identified vulnerabilities.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Familiarity with penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, etc.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and operating systems.
• Knowledge of web application security principles and best practices (OWASP Top 10, etc.).
• Ability to think like an attacker and simulate real-world cyber attacks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills to convey technical findings and recommendations.
• Relevant certifications such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional), or GPEN (GIAC Penetration Tester) are a plus.
