IT Officer

System Administration:

  • Manage and administer the organization's computer systems, servers, and software applications.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of hardware and software infrastructure.
  • Network Administration:
  • Oversee the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against cyber threats.


Hardware Maintenance:

  • Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of computer hardware components.
  • Coordinate with vendors for repairs and replacements as needed.
  • Software Maintenance:
  • Install, update, and maintain software applications used across the organization.
  • Monitor software licenses and ensure compliance.

 

User Support:

  • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Assist in training employees on the use of IT systems and applications.


Backup and Recovery:

  • Implement and manage data backup systems to prevent data loss.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Security Management
  • Monitor and manage cybersecurity measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Conduct security audits and implement necessary safeguards.

 

IT Policy Implementation:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Educate employees on IT security practices and compliance.


Network Monitoring:

  • Monitor network performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal connectivity.
  • Implement measures to prevent and address network downtime.


Collaboration with Vendors:

  • Liaise with IT equipment and service vendors to ensure the organization's technology needs are met.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements as necessary.

 

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Develop and update user guides and manuals.

 

Technology Planning:

  • Contribute to the development of IT strategies and plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption.


Inventory Management:

  • Manage IT equipment inventory, including procurement, allocation, and disposal.
  • Conduct periodic audits to track the status of IT assets.

 

Collaboration with Other Departments:

  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and requirements.
  • Provide guidance on technology solutions to enhance organizational efficiency.

 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the IT function.
  • Implement changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations.
