SAP-HANA Administration

Preferred Experience:

  • More than 6+ years of experience in information technology, with 4+ years spent in SAP HANA Platform Engineering/Administration
  • Proficiency in Informatica installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • SAP HANA administration certification is a plus.


Skills

Platform Management:

  • Lead the design, deployment, and management of the SAP HANA FSDP platform to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Develop and implement best practices for the architecture, configuration, and maintenance of the SAP HANA FSDP environment.
  • Ensure the platform is up-to-date with the latest patches and upgrades.
  • Monitor platform performance and perform tuning to optimize efficiency and throughput.
  • Set up and manage multiple environments (development, QA, production). Implement environment cloning, backups, and disaster recovery processes.

System Administration:

  • Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions to ensure secure and appropriate access. Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and maintain user access logs.
  • Ensure platform security by configuring and monitoring security settings.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to detect and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain audit logs and generate compliance reports as needed.
  • Work with data engineers and analysts to understand data needs and requirements.
  • Provide support in data modeling, schema design, and data mapping activities.

Daily Support and Incident Management:

  • Provide day-to-day support for Informatica environments, addressing user queries and issues.
  • Manage incident tickets, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
  • Perform regular health checks of the Informatica platform and address any anomalies.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to track system performance and identify potential issues.
  • Implement and manage regular backup procedures to ensure data protection.
  • Plan and execute disaster recovery processes to minimize data loss and downtime.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor system performance metrics and logs to identify bottlenecks.
  • Optimize views, database interactions, and platform configurations for better performance.
  • Analyze system usage trends and plan for future capacity needs.
  • Implement scaling strategies to accommodate growing data volumes and user demands.
  • Conduct proactive maintenance activities to prevent potential issues.
  • Develop and implement automated scripts for regular maintenance tasks.
  • Collaboration and Communication:

Cross-functional Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with IT, data, and business teams to support data initiatives and projects.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide technical insights.
  • Provide training and support to end-users and junior team members on platform usage and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain user guides, FAQs, and training materials.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform configurations, procedures, and operations.
  • Generate and present regular reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in Informatica and data engineering.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance the platform.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the Informatica environment.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
