Overview of the job
The Greenkeeper is responsible for maintenance and preparation of ground and playing surfaces.
What you will do.
- Replanting, repairing, aerating, fertilising and topdressing lawns
- Knowledge on how to prepare the entire range of playing surfaces (tees, fairways, roughs, greens etc.)
- Being able to undertake common methods of repair and renovation.
- Preparing ground and establishing plants is also a key part of the job.
- Knowledge and skills required to use and maintain non-powered tools and equipment correctly and safely
- Being able to prepare and operate a tractor, mowers, rollers and etc.
- A range of mowing. Scarifying/verti-cutting turf. Aerating turf. Applying top dressing and fertilizers
- Repairing divots. Identifying and controlling weeds, pests, turf diseases and disorders
- Seeking to advance and progress by increasing his understanding of operational tasks
- Fuels, cleans and looks after assigned equipment and tools
- Mow lines are good, mowed areas are clean, big & wide turns, controls his traffic
- Have a comprehensive understanding of all maintenance operations
- Reports damaged, misbehaviour or unprofessionalism by any colleague to a supervisor
- Ensures wash-bay is left clean & tidy
- Monitor and Maintain health, safety and security in the workplace
Skills
What equips you for the role
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:
- High School Certificate or 5 years’ experience in the similar field
- At least two (2) years working as greenkeepers for golf course or sports grounds
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
- Basic English Level 3 (Read & Write)
- Must be able to work in a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
- A positive team member
