Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and guidelines.
- Prepare and submit required environmental permits and reports to regulatory agencies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in environmental laws and regulations and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Environmental Management:
- Develop and implement environmental management plans and programs for drilling operations.
- Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits to identify and address potential issues.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling programs, ensuring proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Sustainability Initiatives:
- Promote and implement sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of drilling activities.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate sustainable practices into drilling operations.
- Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of environmental awareness and responsibility within the organization.
- Incident Management:
- Respond to environmental incidents and emergencies, coordinating with internal teams and external agencies as needed.
- Conduct investigations and prepare reports on environmental incidents, recommending corrective actions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of environmental activities, inspections, and compliance efforts.
- Prepare and present environmental performance reports to management and stakeholders
Skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in environmental management, preferably within the drilling or oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
- Experience with environmental impact assessments and sustainability practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as an Environmental Professional (CEP) or similar credential.
- Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
- Familiarity with drilling operations and related environmental challenges.
