IT Support Specialist

  • Adhere to service management process & service level agreement .
  • Follow all the norms and points per the Information Technology Infrastructure Library for a fluent management process.
  • Guiding users in rectifying the required hardware and software queries.
  • Maintain consistency in managing services by following the ITIL framework.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide first-line technical support to staff and students, resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Respond to IT support tickets in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to teaching and learning activities.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of computers, printers, projectors, and other IT equipment.
  • Hardware and Software Maintenance:
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on all school IT equipment, including computers, servers, and network devices.
  • Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems as required.
  • Network Administration:
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining the school's network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Support the configuration and management of network devices, including routers, switches, and access points.
  • Data Management:
  • Ensure regular backups of critical data and systems, following established procedures.
  • Assist in the management and organization of digital files and databases.
  • User Training and Support:
  • Provide basic IT training and support to staff and students to enhance their understanding and effective use of technology.
  • Create and maintain user guides and documentation for common IT processes and procedures.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of IT security measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, and access controls.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and industry regulations regarding data protection and IT usage.
  • Incident Response:
  • Assist in the identification, reporting, and resolution of IT security incidents and breaches.
  • Participate in regular IT audits and assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.

Skills

  • Capable of installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing (at the component level) any of the personal computers in the assets inventory.
  • Possessing knowledge of remote installation, troubleshooting, and repair work of computers and relevant components.
  • Adept in fault-finding and offering solutions to mobile software on iOS, Windows, and Android platforms.
  • Skilled with expanding customized OS parameters through a technically sound image deployment process.
  • A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking principles.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Knowledge of common office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
