HVAC Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development:
  • Design HVAC systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, including heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Develop and implement energy-efficient systems, optimizing for performance and cost.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Perform load calculations to determine the heating and cooling needs of a building.
  • Installation and Maintenance:
  • Oversee the installation of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot any issues with HVAC systems.
  • Coordinate with contractors and other engineering teams to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Testing and Optimization:
  • Test HVAC systems for performance, energy efficiency, and safety compliance.
  • Analyze system data to identify areas for improvement and implement optimization strategies.
  • Ensure HVAC systems meet environmental and sustainability standards.
  • Project Management:
  • Manage HVAC projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver projects that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure all HVAC work complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct safety assessments and ensure all installations and operations adhere to safety standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.


Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HVAC design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Proficient in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP).
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
