ADNOC Global Trading LTD (“AGT”) seeks an ambitious, motivated, Accountant to join its Finance team in Abu Dhabi.

Incorporated in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, Abu Dhabi’s international financial centre, AGT commenced commercial operations in December 2020. It is owned by ADNOC (65%), Eni (20%) and OMV (15%). Head quartered in Abu Dhabi, it has ambitious plans for global growth. AGT has already established a subsidiary in Singapore which commenced operations this year and expects to open in Europe and the US in the near future.
AGT’s business is focused on the physical trading of crude oil, condensate, liquid feedstock and refined oil products, risk management activities (including hedging), shipping and chartering, storage and management of inventories, the trading of oil related derivatives and other ancilliary activities.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Accountant is responsible for overseeing Adnoc Global Trading’s general accounting operations by controlling and verifying AGT’s financial transactions. The person in this role will manage financial accounting, operations accounting and planning, and forecasting for AGT.
Job Specific Accountabilities
- Provide input on accounting policies, processes and procedures
- Support the monthly close process, reconcile accounts, ensure compliance and generate internal financial reporting packages and requisite analysis
- Supports resolving of differences between the monthly financial results and risk reporting profit and loss by working with Global Middle Office and Traders as necessary
- Review the company's internal and external financial statements on a monthly and yearly basis
- Provide support in the analysis and reconciliation of the profit and loss to the CTRM system
- Make journal entries and ensure correct bookkeeping in SAP
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
- Provide technical support to the Accountant Manager
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree, Finance or Accounting
- Certified Chartered Accounting Qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA or equivalent)
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum 3 years' experience, of which at least 2 years' experience in the oil and gas trading industry
- Experience in preparing statutory accounts under IFRS and accounting standards
- Chartered accountant with experience of financial and exchange requirements
- Industry knowledge - specific experience with/understanding of key drivers, economics, and management practices of integrated oil industry
- Commodities Trading knowledge - keeps up to date with international events and geo-political climate, accounting for trading commodities and financial instruments within the energy sector
- Financial Knowledge - financial planning and strategy, managing profitability, quality management, promoting process improvement, forecasting, corporate finance, developing budgets, knowledge of financial reporting requirements (including financial reporting standards according to IFRS) to be able to produce financial and management accounts that accurately reflect the operations of the business
- Systems Experience – SAP required and CTRM platform desirable
