Position’s mission

To ensure that the College provides employees, students, and visitors with the highest standards for a conducive, safe, and healthy working environment by establishing a safe workplace according to legal standards and regulations and fostering a culture of attention to health and safety.


Duties and responsibilities :


§ Assist in complying with current health and safety legislation and regulations to ensure that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect employees, students, and visitors' safety and health.


§ Align and comply with the College information security, privacy, HSE, policy, and procedures.


§ Support developing, implementing, and monitoring the College’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy, Programs, and Procedures.


§ Assist in the implementation of HSE training programs and increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the College.


§ Investigate and report all injuries, accident, and near-miss occurring to the employees, students, and visitors to the Support Services Manager


§ Assist in investigating all accidents/incidents resulting in substantial damage to the assets and properties of the College.


§ Inspect the workplace regularly in order to identify hazards and outstanding matters of health and safety and record results and prepare a report for submittal and review with the Support Services Manager.


§ Ensure that appropriate emergency arrangements are in place. Ensure that fire, first aid, and emergency evacuation precautions are known by all employees, students, and visitors and that they are available at all locations.


§ Ensure that site HSE records are produced and maintained in accordance with the procedures and standards of the College.


§ Determine the cause of any accident or dangerous occurrence and recommend means of preventing recurrence.


§ Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.


§ Assist in designing HSE inspection plans, risk assessments, and reports (daily, weekly, monthly, ….)


§ supported with statistical information.


Maintain and update all HSE-related documents and do the required documentation for HSE



Qualifications:


§ Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent from an accredited institution


§ Accredited OSHAD or NEBOSH Certificate is a must.


§ Having any of the following certificates is preferred:


§ IOSH Managing Safely (UK).


§ International Workplace Health & Safety (BSC)


§ HABC Fire Safety Level-2 Course (High field- UK)


§ Advance Fire Fighting (ANSI) (GTSC / UAE)


§ BASIC H2S (OPITO) (GTSC / UAE)

Basic First Aid (ANSI) (GTSC / UAE)
