Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commodities Trader specializing in petroleum products and non-petroleum commodities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in global market analysis, trading activities, risk management, and operational logistics. You will be responsible for negotiating and executing commodity transactions, managing supplier relationships, and identifying new opportunities to maximize value along the supply chain.


Key Responsibilities:


Market Analysis:

  • Collaborate with the Analytics team to conduct in-depth market research, identifying trends, supply and demand dynamics, and price movements in the petroleum and non-petroleum sectors.
  • Monitor global market conditions, including geopolitical events, environmental factors, and regulatory changes that may impact commodity prices and availability.
  • Maintain knowledge of key trade agreements, restrictions, and duty structures in major origination countries for petroleum and non-petroleum commodities.


Trading Activities:

  • Negotiate and execute origination and trading transactions for various types of petroleum and non-petroleum commodities, ensuring adherence to approved quality standards and specifications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, traders, and brokers locally and internationally.
  • Identify and capitalize on value chain opportunities to capture additional business value.


Risk Management:

  • Assess and manage risks associated with trading activities, including price volatility, counterparty risk, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Work closely with the analytics and risk management teams to implement strategies to mitigate market and operational risks.


Planning, Logistics, and Operations:

  • Coordinate with Planning teams to ensure timely delivery of commodities and manage inventory levels.
  • Oversee logistics and storage arrangements to meet company requirements and operational commitments.
  • Collaborate with different business units and leadership teams to develop strategies for business growth and optimization.



Skills

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.
  • A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in commodities trading, with a strong focus on petroleum products and experience in non-petroleum commodities.
  • Proven track record of successful trading, relationship management, and value chain optimization.
  • Strong understanding of global market dynamics, regulations, and risk management strategies.
