Junior Procurement Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for food sourcing in alignment with Al Barakah Dates' needs.
  • Research and identify potential suppliers; conduct negotiations and manage relationships with selected vendors.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring compliance with specifications, budget, and delivery deadlines.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, service, and reliability.
  • Monitor market trends related to dates and food commodities, adjusting procurement practices accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements and aggregate purchasing needs.
  • Perform regular assessments of supplier performance and initiate corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure all procurement processes adhere to internal policies and external regulations.
  • Assist in inventory management to prevent stock shortages and minimize waste.

Provide reporting on procurement activities and market analysis.

Skills

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in procurement.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to various suppliers and sites as needed.
