Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for food sourcing in alignment with Al Barakah Dates' needs.
- Research and identify potential suppliers; conduct negotiations and manage relationships with selected vendors.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring compliance with specifications, budget, and delivery deadlines.
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, service, and reliability.
- Monitor market trends related to dates and food commodities, adjusting procurement practices accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements and aggregate purchasing needs.
- Perform regular assessments of supplier performance and initiate corrective actions when needed.
- Ensure all procurement processes adhere to internal policies and external regulations.
- Assist in inventory management to prevent stock shortages and minimize waste.
Provide reporting on procurement activities and market analysis.
Skills
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in procurement.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Willingness to travel to various suppliers and sites as needed.
