Material Planner (UAE National)

Responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory incl. sales in excess of invoicing from purchase requisition to customer invoice. Support internal customer service inquiries. Sets inventory parameters, inventory targets, and ensure adequate replenishment of inventory through purchase orders.

 

1. Stock profile and Segmentation: segments the portfolio of materials through an ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management and commercial policy. Defines inventory policies according to this segmentation.

2. Planning parameters: Calculates and maintains in the planning systems and the ERPs the inventory parameters: safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead-time, and replenishment strategies. Manages the set-up and related enhancements of APO (Advanced Planning and Optimizer) calendar. Performs multi-scenarios simulations for the optimization of inventory turns, on-time delivery and inbound freight costs (3KPIs model). Responsible for the planning process in case of consignment-stock at external supplier and / or customer facility.  

3. Collaboration: Collaborates with fulfillment specialists for obtaining the best possible supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, MOQ, quality, lead-time, and flexibility.

4. Inbound Materials: Works with fulfillment specialists to align planning of material with call offs and ensures that purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders.

5. Inventory controls: Manages MRP (Materials Resource Planning) exception messages on a daily basis.

Monitor and resolves error messages related to the interface between the Enterprise Resource System (ERP) and the Warehouse Management System (WMS) in order to ensure the inventory alignment between the two systems (daily basis). Supports cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting. Conducts financial risk assessments decisions relating to inventory, conducts root case analysis when necessary.

6. Inventory performance: Performs inventory sanity checks, analyses short, excess and obsolete/aging inventory. Takes appropriate action for optimizing inventory performance, in collaboration with sales, marketing, fulfillment team, feeder factories and / or external suppliers. Responsible for the ICBK (Inventory check book) process and related periodical follow-ups / monthly reviews.

7. Reports: runs daily checks / reports for process control and for process deviations and exceptions resolution. Responsible for performance reporting (OTD, Lead Time, Inventory related KPIs, ITO, stock-outs etc.)   

 

Skills

  • Bachelor\ higher Degree in Supply chain (inventory planning\logistics)
  • Have +1 year of experience in relevant field or a fresh graduate
  • Process oriented, focused on standardization, streamlining and best practices
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • A self-starter, meticulous, a good team player and able to work independently
  • Supply chain fundamentals (inventory management, demand planning, S&OP, MRP )
  • Preferably holding an APICS certification
  • Excellent Analytical and computational skills
  • Business acumen
  • SAP APO preferably
  • Outstanding communication and presenting skills
  • Advanced Excel, Power point, Power BI or a similar BI tool will be a plus
