The Cashier/Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service by managing payment transactions, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for guests. This dual-role position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Cashiering Duties:
- Accurately process payments, including cash, credit cards, and other payment methods, using a POS system.
- Provide receipts, handle refunds, and manage change as required.
- Balance the cash register at the start and end of each shift, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Assist customers with billing inquiries and resolve any payment-related issues.
Waiter/Waitress Duties:
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables.
- Present menus, answer questions, and provide recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring any special requests or dietary restrictions are noted.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
- Monitor tables for additional service needs, such as refilling drinks or clearing plates.
Skills
- Experience: Previous experience in a cashier or waiter/waitress role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills; familiarity with POS systems is an advantage.
