We are currently seeking a Consultant Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing accurate and timely patient diagnoses, as well as offer expert advice and recommendations to healthcare professionals. This position will focus on reviewing tissue samples and other diagnostic materials to identify disease states and provide valuable insights to aid in patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze tissue samples, blood smears, and other diagnostic materials to determine the presence of diseases or abnormalities
- Provide thorough and accurate pathology reports to physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals
- Offer expert consultation and recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of patients based on pathology findings
- Utilize advanced laboratory equipment and techniques to perform tests and procedures on samples
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety protocols and procedures within the laboratory
- Develop and maintain relationships with medical professionals and actively participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and discussions
- Conduct research and contribute to ongoing medical programs and studies related to pathology
Skills
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Pathology (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Consultant Pathologist within a hospital or medical center setting
- Experience and expertise in surgical and cytopathology
- Strong understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
- Board certification in Pathology (or equivalent) preferred
