Sals Executive - Freight Forwarding

The Sales Executive will be responsible for expanding the company’s customer base, driving revenue growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction through the sale of freight forwarding services, including air, sea, and road freight solutions. This role requires a proactive individual who is comfortable with cold calling, conducting meetings, and managing client relationships in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Development:

  • Identify and prospect new clients within the freight forwarding, logistics, and supply chain sectors.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of new sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers in client organizations.
  • Understand customer needs and tailor freight forwarding solutions to meet those needs.

2. Client Relationship Management:

  • Provide excellent customer service and follow-up to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the sales and service process.
  • Manage client inquiries, provide quotations, and handle negotiations effectively.

3. Market Research & Analysis:

  • Research industry trends, market conditions, and competitor services to identify sales opportunities.
  • Analyze clients' requirements to propose the most cost-effective and efficient freight solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and international shipping procedures.

4. Sales Presentations & Negotiations:

  • Conduct product presentations to potential clients, demonstrating the value of the company's services.
  • Negotiate rates, terms, and conditions of freight forwarding contracts.
  • Close sales and achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets.

5. Collaboration with Operations:

  • Work closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of logistics solutions.
  • Ensure that all client documentation and shipments are processed efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to track payments and resolve any billing issues.

6. Reporting & Forecasting:

  • Provide regular reports on sales activities, including progress toward targets, new business opportunities, and pipeline status.
  • Prepare forecasts and assist in setting achievable sales goals.
  • Track and report sales performance metrics.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree is a must.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales or business development within the freight forwarding industry is a must.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of freight forwarding services, global logistics, and transportation modes (air, sea, road).

Skills

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong presentation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Knowledge of export and import documentation is a plus.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English, Hindi and Arabic preferred.
  • Location: Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and potential leads.
