Plant Supervisor

Role Purpose:

The incumbent is responsible for controlling and monitoring the SCADA in the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant. In addition, ensure that the test and analysis are being followed as per the plant’s standards and take necessary actions and response to any failure or breakdown in the plant.


Accountabilities:


  • Monitor and control the operating system “SCADA” at the IWWTP.
  • Ensure availability of equipment replacement parts to maintain operational compliance and supervise & assist staff and contractors with equipment repairs.
  • Review quotes on operational and maintenance items to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and work with wastewater operations staff to ensure all pretreatment systems are functioning properly and equipment operators are performing as scheduled and planned.
  • Maintain information in field logs and spreadsheets etc., issue work orders and schedule preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Make decisions based on operational control data generated by the wastewater plant equipment and staff reports to ensure pretreatment systems are functioning at peak performance.
  • Monitor & control inventory by ensuring chemicals are ordered, stored properly, disposed of properly and available for the wastewater treatment systems.
  • Manage sludge disposal process.
  • Ensure availability of equipment replacement parts to maintain operational compliance and supervise & assist staff and contractors with equipment repairs.
  • Implement all safety procedures required in the plant.
  • Follow the set tasks standards in the plant.
  • Manage the Labors and assistants in the daily tasks of the plant.
  • Response and take actions to solve mechanical & electrical problems in the plant.
  • Ensure proper documentations (analysis & material in-out, consumables in the plant) .


Job Requirements:

Experience & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience preferably in water treatment related environment and plant operations.


Knowledge & Skills

  • Computer literacy
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical knowledge about plant operations and equipment
  • General understanding about the chemical process and water treatment
  • Knowledge about sampling procedures and equipment maintenance works
  • Knowledge of water treatment processes
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Careful and methodical approach with good attention to detail
