As a Crane Engineer, you will support the Crane & Jacking System Team Leader in overseeing the design, maintenance, and operation of cranes, ensuring compliance with international offshore lifting standards. You will ensure all maintenance and regulatory requirements align with company policies and HSE standards. Additionally, you will perform assigned duties under the supervision of the Team Leader.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Crane & Jacking System Team Leader in overseeing crane design, maintenance, and operations.
- Ensure all barge cranes comply with international offshore lifting standards and regulations.
- Verify that maintenance and regulatory requirements align with company policies and HSE/SHEQ standards.
- Assist in interviewing and assessing crane operators for manning requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to determine the right crane type, capacity, and specifications for operations.
- Conduct engineering calculations, including load capacity and structural analysis, to ensure crane safety.
- Oversee maintenance programs, inspections, and compliance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Provide technical support to crane operators and offshore teams for efficient and safe operations.
- Monitor dry dock works and subcontractor repairs, ensuring compliance with class, company, and manufacturer standards.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, or near misses involving cranes and implement corrective actions.
Skills
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in crane engineering, maintenance, and operations, preferably in the oil and gas, or maritime industry.
- Strong knowledge of crane types, lifting principles, rigging techniques, and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in engineering calculations (load capacity, stability, structural analysis).
- Ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively
- Priority will be given to applicants with GCC experience.
