Job Summary:
The Financial Analyst will play a key role in providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making and drive profitability across the restaurant chain. This individual will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience in the restaurant or retail industry and a strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis in a multi-location environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to track performance, identify trends, and highlight key areas of opportunity or concern.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of annual budgets and financial forecasts, including revenue, cost of goods sold (COGS), labor, and overhead expenses.
- Variance Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of actual financial results compared to budgeted or forecasted figures, providing explanations for variances and offering recommendations for corrective actions.
- Cost Control: Work closely with operations and procurement teams to analyze food, beverage, and labor costs, identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
- Profitability Analysis: Conduct profitability analysis for different locations, menu items, and promotions to drive strategic decision-making and optimize margins.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and analyze cash flow, ensuring that the company has adequate liquidity to meet operational needs while maximizing cash reserves.
- KPIs and Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to restaurant performance, including sales growth, cost control, and overall profitability.
- Financial Modeling: Build financial models to evaluate new projects, capital expenditures, and other business initiatives.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, marketing, and senior management to ensure alignment of financial goals with business strategies.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide financial analysis and reports as needed to support decision-making by senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills required) and financial software (experience with Quickbooks or POS systems is a plus).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying issues and proposing solutions.
