Key Responsibilities:

• Repair & Restoration: Reupholster and refurbish old or damaged sofas, chairs, and other furniture pieces.

• New Furniture Making: Cut, sew, and assemble upholstery materials to create new custom sofas and seating.

• Frame & Padding Work: Attach padding, webbing, and springs to furniture frames.

• Fabric & Leather Handling: Measure, cut, and stitch fabric or leather to fit furniture designs.

• Cushion & Foam Shaping: Work with different foam densities to create comfortable and aesthetically pleasing seating.

• Tools & Equipment: Use industrial sewing machines, staple guns, and other upholstery tools efficiently.

• Customization & Detailing: Perform piping, tufting, and decorative upholstery finishes as per customer requirements.

• Material Selection & Maintenance: Recommend and handle different upholstery materials for various projects.

• Quality Control: Ensure all finished products meet company standards in craftsmanship and durability.

• Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following safety procedures.

Skills

✅ Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in upholstery, preferably in a workshop or furniture manufacturing setting.

✅ Technical Skills: Knowledge of sewing, cutting, stitching, and padding techniques for furniture upholstery.

✅ Material Knowledge: Familiarity with different fabrics, leathers, and foam types.

✅ Frame Work: Understanding of wooden and metal sofa frame construction.

✅ Attention to Detail: Ability to create neat, precise, and high-quality upholstery finishes.

✅ Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and fix upholstery-related issues efficiently.

✅ Hand & Power Tools: Experience using staple guns, industrial sewing machines, foam cutters, and upholstery hammers.

✅ Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy furniture, stand for long periods, and handle manual work.

✅ Creativity & Customization: Ability to design or replicate custom sofa styles as per client requirements.

✅ Team Player: Ability to collaborate with carpenters, designers, and other workshop staff.

✅ Language Skills: Basic English.
