Job Description:

• Provide mentoring and goal setting for the development of staff
• Assess current team and identify opportunities to strengthen and develop
• Communicate with team members to ensure that they understand, and become engaged with, sector/discipline business plans       
• Provide Design Management and Liaison with the Global Excellence Outsourcing Centre
• Proactively manage selected projects (or components of projects), manage subcontractors, manage the production of analysis and design (including drawings and reports), ensure the integrity of the overall design (in collaboration with other design disciplines), quality assurance and client feedback      
• Keep up to date with tehcnical and legislative developments and seek opportunities to develop professional profile
• Liaise with the Project Manager or Director and the client to keep informed of all developments, changes/modifications associated with the

Project    

• Identify opportunities and drive implementation of engineering strategies to maximise the profitability of design components
• Gain a good understanding of the background of the client’s business and industry to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships

and consolidate both company and personal credibility in the industry     

• Provide leadership, direction and technical advice to team members, take a proactive role in developing team members to their full potential, lead by example to achieve sector/divisional goals and champion a quality, innovative and entrepreneurial culture.
• Take ownership of the discipline     
• Aware and compliant with relevant H&S regulations and to promote a culture of awareness with the team.
• Provide reassurance, confidence and a sense of direction to both client and project team members.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis.
• Own and maintain technical libraries to ensure reference material and design standards are kept up-to-date
• Drive continuous improvement of technical output and carry out head of discipline responsibilities.

Qualifications, Skills and Prior Work Experience:

• Good motivational, influencing, people management and delegation skills
• Ability to think in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner with good understanding of commercial aspects of a project   
• Excellent technical ability in the following:
• CCTV Design and Specification
• ICT Systems Design and Specification
• Security Systems Design and Specification
• Fire Alarm, PAVA Systems Design and Specification
• Building Automation Systems Design and Specification
• Intelligent Traffic System Design and Specification
• Audio Visual Systems Design and Specification
• Security Threat and Risk Assessments – Plot and Masterplan
• Demonstrable experience of achieving authority approvals across the GCC i.e.
• Du, Etisalat, MOI, MCC, Dubai Police, Ooredoo etc.
• Ideally SIRA (Dubai) approved
• Ideally MOI / MCC (Abu Dhabi, UAE) approved

Demonstrable project experience across the GCC i.e.

• Dubai
• Abu Dhabi
• Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
• Qatar
• Oman
• Bahrain
• Kuwait
• Etc.
• Experienced with Revit, AutoCAD, software modelling and calculation tools for different system types e.g. WLAN, Sound Levels etc.
• Accomplished report writer, specification writer and presenter.
• Relevant engineering degree and professional services or related engineering background preferred
