Procurement Manager

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead and oversee the procurement of materials, subcontractors, and services across construction projects. You will be responsible for sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. The role is central to cost control, supply chain efficiency, and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Planning & Strategy

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.

Forecast material requirements based on project BOQs, drawings, and construction schedules.

Vendor & Supplier Management

Identify, prequalify, and manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors (local and international).

Evaluate vendor performance based on pricing, quality, reliability, and compliance.

Tendering & Negotiation

Issue RFQs/RFPs, compare quotations, conduct bid analysis.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings.

Contracts & Compliance

Prepare procurement contracts in coordination with legal and project teams.

Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and UAE regulations.

Material & Inventory Coordination

Coordinate with project engineers, site managers, and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Track deliveries, resolve delays or discrepancies, and maintain accurate records.

Reporting & Cost Control

Monitor procurement costs vs. budget and report variances to management.

Maintain and update procurement logs, vendor databases, and inventory reports.

Team & Stakeholder Management

Lead procurement team (if applicable), mentor junior staff.

Collaborate with finance, projects, and warehouse departments.


Skills

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or related field. (MBA or procurement certifications like CIPS are a plus.)

7+ years of procurement experience in construction, with at least 3 years in the UAE/GCC.

Strong knowledge of construction materials (civil, MEP, finishing), equipment, and services.

Familiarity with UAE vendors, customs procedures, import regulations, and local market pricing.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.

Strong computer skills: MS Excel, ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, BuildSmart, etc.)

Able to read construction drawings, BOQs, and technical specs.

Fluent in English; Arabic or Hindi / Urdu is an advantage.
