Your Role
- Provide comprehensive specialist-level care in Ophthalmology, including diagnosis and management of eye diseases and injuries
- Perform vision testing, prescribe glasses/contact lenses, and conduct corrective surgeries (e.g., cataract removal, corneal repair)
- Manage outpatient and emergency eye clinics
- Prescribe and administer medications, and interpret diagnostic tests
- Counsel patients on treatment options, medications, and preventive eye care
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure continuity of care
- Participate in clinical audits, CME, and quality improvement initiatives
- Engage in research and educational activities within the department
Skills
Ideal Candidate Profile
- DHA-licensed Specialist in Ophthalmology
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
- Minimum 5+ years of specialist-level experience post-qualification
- Skilled in all aspects of Ophthalmology, with a patient-first mindset
- Confident in building a patient base or bringing an existing following
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and committed to clinical excellence
- Certification in Basic and Advanced Life Support
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals are highly regarded
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- MBBS or MBChB or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Completion of specialty qualification recognized by DHA, HAAD, or MOH UAE
- Excellent communication and computer literacy skills
