Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accountant to join our finance team. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, while also assisting with audits, tax filings, and other financial reporting activities that support the overall accounting function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and other adjusting entries as required.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including cash, bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory.
  • Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting procedures, and governance standards.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and lapsing schedules in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Support the annual external audit by providing documentation, reconciling accounts, and addressing auditors’ inquiries.
  • Assist external consultants in preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and corporate tax policies.
  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive financial calendar to track critical deadlines and reporting schedules.


Skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (ACA/CPA preferred but not mandatory).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong focus on general ledger management and reconciliations.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and IFRS.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and CTRM systems (e.g., Oracle, Aspect), and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Reliable and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach when working with internal teams and external stakeholders.
