Technical Manager

A Technical Manager oversees the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of building and home automation projects, ensuring they meet technical standards, budgets, and client expectations. The role involves project management, team leadership, troubleshooting, and staying current with KNX technology. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Specification : in charge of routine meetings with project stakeholders to provide design and specifications as per company’s products and solutions
  • Trainings and Seminars : Conduct frequent product presentation, technical seminars and workshop for partners and customers to enhance their capabilities in handling company’s products and solutions
  • Technical Design and Programming: Supervise the design and engineering of KNX systems. This includes creating system architectures, preparing technical documentation and shop drawings, and managing the programming and configuration of devices using the ETS software.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Offer technical advice and support to customers and partners, helping to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during and after installation as required.
  • Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers and installation technicians, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality work, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Coordinate and conduct on-site installations, testing, and commissioning of KNX-based systems, including integration with lighting, HVAC, security, and AV systems.
  • Quality Assurance and; Compliance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to maintain high standards and ensure all installations comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors, addressing concerns, providing technical guidance, and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed project records, including system designs, configurations, operational manuals, and as-built drawings.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest advancements in KNX technology and industry standards, evaluating their potential integration to enhance system efficiency and user experience. 


Skills

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field is typically required.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years hands-on experience in KNX system commissioning, smart building technologies, IOT and project management.
  • Certifications: KNX Partner certification (Basic and/or Advanced) is highly preferred and often mandatory for the role.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of KNX protocol and programming tools (like ETS), system integration platforms, and related building codes. Knowledge and experience of industry system and protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, DALI etc is must
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills are crucial for coordinating diverse teams and managing client expectations.
