Electrical Project Engineer – Roles & Responsibilities
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and IFC documents, ensuring compliance with UAE authority regulations (DEWA, DCD, DM, ADDC, SEWA, etc.).
- Must be a DEWA-approved electrical engineer for executing and certifying electrical works in Dubai.
- Prepare, review, and submit electrical shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation for consultant approval.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, architectural, and other engineering teams to resolve design clashes and ensure smooth project execution.
- Plan and supervise daily and weekly site activities for electrical works, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
- Monitor installation quality for electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, ELV systems, and fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers by monitoring performance, ensuring timely material delivery, and verifying compliance with project requirements.
- Raise RFIs, follow up on approvals, and provide technical solutions to on-site issues.
- Assist in procurement, evaluate quotations, and ensure electrical materials and equipment comply with project standards.
- Attend site meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors, providing progress updates, reports, and action plans.
- Ensure site compliance with QA/QC procedures and HSE standards, maintaining safe work practices.
- Supervise testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems, preparing all required documentation, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.
- Support project managers in cost tracking, variation claims, and preparation of project reports and documentation.
