A privately held Investment Management company in Dubai, having offices in Canada, Europe, Middle East and Belarus, is looking to hire an IT Hardware Engineer based in Dubai. Responsible for the lifecycle of an organization's office hardware, from procurement and setup to troubleshooting and disposal, ensuring all physical IT assets support business operations efficiently and securely.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Installation & Configuration: Set up, install, and configure desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and other peripherals for new and existing employees.
- Maintenance & Upgrades: Perform regular hardware maintenance, upgrades (RAM, SSDs), and replacements.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware failures, performance issues, and connectivity problems for end-users (desktops, laptops, mobile devices).
- Network Support: Install, configure, and manage network hardware like routers, switches, and access points, ensuring secure and efficient connectivity.
- Inventory & Asset Management: Track and manage all IT hardware assets, maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Documentation: Create and update documentation for hardware configurations, troubleshooting guides, and support procedures.
- Security: Implement and maintain hardware security measures, including firewall configurations and endpoint protection.
- User Support: Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, potentially offering training on new hardware.
- Collaboration: Work with software engineers and IT teams to integrate hardware with applications and resolve complex issues.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering
Skills
- Proven experience in hardware support, network administration, or similar IT role.
- Strong knowledge of PC/Mac hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) are often beneficial.
