Key Responsibilities
Technical & Design Management:
- Review and interpret technical specifications, IFC drawings, and project documents.
- Perform design review, design calculations, and shop drawing preparation.
- Ensure adherence to contract conditions, project specifications, and tender requirements.
Coordination & Supervision:
- Coordinate with Client, Consultant, Civil Contractors, and other service disciplines to ensure smooth execution.
- Attend technical, coordination, and progress meetings to meet project milestones.
- Supervise and monitor site installations to ensure compliance with approved drawings, materials, and method statements.
Material & Procurement Management:
- Prepare material requests, follow up with Head Office for orders and deliveries.
- Ensure materials are available at site as per project schedule.
- Review and follow up on shop drawing and material submittals for timely approval.
Quality & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all site activities comply with approved QA/QC procedures, method statements, and safety standards.
- Coordinate inspections and approvals with QA/QC engineers as per the Project Quality Plan (PQP).
Progress & Reporting:
- Monitor subcontractor performance and report work progress to the Project Manager and Planning Engineer.
- Track and report on-site progress to ensure timely completion and adherence to project timelines.
Electrical / Mechanical Expertise (as applicable):
- Electrical: Expertise in lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations.
- Mechanical: Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and related systems design and implementation.
- Full knowledge of relevant Authority regulations, standards, and approval procedures.
Project & Contract Management:
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Review and approve technical submittals and respond to RFIs.
- Review contractor variation/change order proposals and provide recommendations to Resident Engineer / Project Manager.
- Ensure all works comply with contractual and procedural requirements during execution and handover stages.
Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical (B.Sc / B.E).
- 10–15 years of experience with MEP contracting companies, including at least 8 years in the UAE/Gulf region.
- Proven experience in handling complex MEP projects from start to completion.
