Cathodic Protection Supervisor

Responsibilities:


  • Delivery of assigned work on schedule and on budget.
  • The technical integrity and quality of the Cathodic Protection discipline, including personnel working under his direction.
  • The Cathodic protection designs for various structures including but not limited to pipelines, tanks & vessels, well casings, concrete CP and off-shore structures.
  • Identification and performance of required Cathodic Protection studies such as AC / DC interference studies and mitigation, specialized CP surveys, CP assessments, etc.
  • Specification and design of Cathodic Protection systems for different areas on the project.
  • Specify and review coating requirements for external and internal corrosion prevention.
  • Specify coating systems for different structures on the project, including pipelines, piping, and steel structures.
  • Review of other discipline's work to ensure CP / Corrosion prevention aspects are included in all design documents.
  • Participate in site surveys and plant visits (if required) to determine constraints in the existing CP systems or other existing facilities on sites that may influence the overall design concept and be able to recommend the most economical solutions.
  • Preparation of CP equipment and bulk materials specifications, material requisitions
  • Performance of technical evaluations of bids and review of vendor documentation submittals
  • Support the field engineering team for supervision of contractor activities related to CP system installation, review contractor CP and coating procedures, review of Contractor CP survey reports, ensure compliance of Contractors to company and client specifications and procedures.
  • Response to all CP technical queries arising from the Contractor or the site construction teams to ensure timely delivery of the project while maintaining the technical compliance to client specifications and industry codes
  • Commit to all applicable company HSE rules and quality requirements.
  • This position entails a high percentage of on-site presence (up to 50% of candidate's time). Remaining time will be at the Home Office (Muscat) performing design engineering and procurement support tasks.
