Job Scope The Regional Legal Counsel is responsible to provide legal advice for the Plaza Premium Group (PPG)’s Middle East / Africa (MEA) regional team to support business objectives and legal requirements. The legal portfolio covers legal corporate and commercial matters for PPG including reviewing and drafting of commercial contracts, legal documents and any other related documents.
Job Description•Review/drafts and advise on all legal related issues, documents, agreements, legal opinions, etc as per assigned job scope.•Liaise with internal stakeholders (HQ Legal, HKHQ, regional and local) including providing strategic legal advice, attending meetings, calls and coordinating with external counsels.•Handle RFP for Middle East team of external counsels - source, negotiate, prepare summary for approval.•Manage and provide legal advice on company disputes, litigation proceedings and labour matters.•Provide the Management with advice and analysis on legal risks to protect the Company’s interest and reputation.•Liaise, follow-up, monitor and conduct meetings/calls with external counsels on legal matters.•Ensure compliance of business operations and projects with relevant laws and regulations•To update with the latest developments or revision of the relevant laws and regulations applicable to the Group and keep abreast of the legal landscape and framework development•Such other legal/related matters requested by Global Director from time to time.
Job Requirements•Candidate must have recognized Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Master of Laws (LLM) degree.•Preferably with at least 5 years of PQE with at least 3 years in legal practice and remainder as in-house counsel in a multinational, multicultural corporation with experience within the Middle East region.•Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.•Good drafting skills & good knowledge of commercial and corporate law.•Good English language skills. Knowledge of written and verbal Arabic language is a must.•Experience in regional roles in Middle East will be an advantage.•Able to work in a fast-paced business environment and within tight deadlines.•Detail-oriented with a strong commercial acumen.
