The Project Engineer – Electrical is responsible for planning, execution, coordination, and supervision of electrical works at site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities Project Execution & Coordination
- Assist the Project Manager in planning and execution of electrical works.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Prepare method statements, work schedules, and material submittals for electrical systems.
- Monitor site progress and ensure works are carried out as per approved drawings and schedules.
Technical Responsibilities
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems including LV/HV systems, power distribution, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, fire alarm, and ELV interfaces.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, IEC standards, local authority regulations, and safety requirements.
- Resolve technical issues at site and provide effective engineering solutions.
- Conduct inspections and ensure quality control of electrical works.
Planning & Cost Control
- Assist in manpower planning and preparation of work programs.
- Coordinate procurement of electrical materials and ensure timely delivery to site.
- Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
- Support variation orders, technical clarifications, and site instructions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
- Maintain inspection requests (IRs), test reports, and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections and approvals.
- Assist in preparation of handover documents, O&M manuals, and final submissions.
