Job Purpose
Our mission as CSI Solution Design is to leverage DHL capabilities to design and deliver leading supply chain solutions that meet customer needs and drive profitable net growth. We have 3 main responsibilities: discover new supply chain opportunities, design winning logistics solutions, and develop new innovative sector solutions.
In many cases, CSI customers require cross-divisional and complex supply chain solutions. In close collaboration with the divisional product and solution teams, we build customized and integrated solutions for the largest and most demanding customers of DHL across five sectors. Together with the commercial teams, our solution design team identifies, designs, and delivers sustainable supply chain solutions.
It is a customer-facing, project-based job with an interdisciplinary character. We look for candidates who possess a combination of skills of a supply chain consultant, project manager, and product development skillset, with good industry/sector knowledge and strong business acumen.
Principal Accountabilities:
Design
Design customer-centric supply chain solutions to convert customer opportunities, tender and take a proactive approach.
Discover
Support Customer Managers in uncovering customer opportunities by designing, preparing, and running Customer Supply Chain Discovery Workshops (both virtual and physical workshops).
Innovate
Support the sector’s growth priorities by developing sector solutions/products that meet the supply chain requirements of multiple customers.
Industry and sector expertise
Be familiar with the supply chain industry, i.e., business units’ business models, available products and solutions across DHL, and most importantly, impacting trends. Become familiar with selected sector trends and accounts' development, with a holistic view of customers’ supply chain. Achieve a good understanding of available sector solution sets.
Customer Intelligence
Achieve an in-depth understanding of the current end-to-end supply chain model of target accounts and assess possible gaps and opportunities in collaboration with various stakeholders across CSI and Business Units.
Sector Engagement Plan
Drive a sector engagement plan to ensure a steady and healthy value-generating project pipeline. Align and review regularly with sales leaders and key sector stakeholders.
Communication
Share best practices and build and maintain relationships with sector/Business Units/Solution Design community
Subject Matter Expertise
Develop subject matter expertise in a select area/topic critical for the business conversion and industry.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related discipline; preferred in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience: 5–10 years in the related field; minimum 3 years in one of the BU DHL or a strong understanding of the freight and forwarding industry.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, distribution channels, international trade, and key metrics.
- Solution Design & Consulting experience, proven experience in process engineering and delivering sizeable supply chain design projects.
- Highly developed analytical capabilities and critical thinking.
- Strong project management skills; ability to manage complex, cross-BU, multi-region projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Effective team player with experience in virtual/remote work and managing diverse stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of financial and commercial principles; strong international exposure and cultural sensitivity.
- Excellent verbal and written English; Arabic is a plus.
